OUR COMMITMENT TO
CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

background

Our approach, programme, and statement of intent as we strive to become a socially responsible business, both internally and externally – making a positive impact on our people and workplace, our clients and suppliers, our local community, and our local and global environment.

Through our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) programme and driven by our dedicated Committee, we  actively review our business operations and processes, particularly those that may have an impact on social, economic and environmental issues outside of the workplace. The purpose of our programme is to sustain a business that is successful and respected in its ethical standing by our stakeholders. These include candidates, clients, investors, regulators, suppliers and the wider community.

We embrace the role our business plays on a day to day basis in contributing to a better society; proactively helping the people and places that are close to our hearts including our own employees and the local environment and community in which we operate.

Immensely proud of our heritage as a North West business, our efforts focus on local charities, with links to various entities in the North West including St Catherine’s Hospice,  Rosemere Cancer Foundation, and The Access To Justice Foundation.

I love feeling like I am making a difference –  not only to our Clayton family and the wellbeing of my colleagues, but also to businesses and organisations within our local community who need our support.

Being part of our CSR Committee is incredibly rewarding and the team here really get behind the many initiatives we have, whether that’s volunteering or raising much needed funds.

  • Supporting Our People

It may be a cliché perhaps, but our people really are the beating heart of our business and our most important asset. That’s why we invest in various platforms and services that support their physical and mental health and wellbeing. With above-statutory holidays, birthdays off, hybrid-working and bowls of fresh fruit weekly on us, we firmly believe in creating a positive, supportive work culture where our employees can truly thrive.

  • Supporting Our Local Community

Whether it’s raising much-needed funds for the various charities and organisations we support, or trying, where we can, to buy small and buy local, efforts towards supporting the community in and around the North West is at the very core of our CSR programme. This year alone we are committed to raising funds for Let’s Grow Preston, a community based charity, that supports and develops community environmental projects and activites. as well as The Rosemere Cancer Foundation– a local charity who support world-class cancer treatment throughout Lancashire and South Cumbria.

  • Supporting Our Environment

The environmental aspects of CSR are often complex however we are mindful of our carbon footprint and try, where we are able, to focus on sustainability in the day-to-day running of our business. From simple things such as investing in low energy lightbulbs, turning PCs off at the end of each day, to a stringent recycling policy, we actively seek to reduce energy consumption. We have recently announced our partnership with Ecologi, a certified B-Corp social enterprise, and platform for Climate Action; helping individuals, families, and businesses become Climate Positive.
