A leading multiservice law firm dedicated to ensuring access to justice. Specialising in criminal defence, family law, housing, civil liberties, and human rights, proud to be recognised by Legal 500 and Chambers UK. I am currently seeking a Criminal Solicitor to join a dynamic and growing Crime Team in Leeds.
Key responsibilities:
- Represent clients detained at police stations.
- Manage your own caseload of criminal defence cases across a variety of offences.
- Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials (and Crown Court hearings if you have Higher Rights).
About you:
- Solicitor with at least 1 year’s PQE in criminal matters.
- Crime duty accreditation preferred, or a willingness to obtain it.
- Strong communication and advocacy skills.
- Proficient in IT and capable of managing a demanding caseload with minimal supervision.
- Pragmatic, professional, and passionate about publicly funded work.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent client relationship and team-building skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and stay calm under pressure.
