Deputy Head of Department (Litigation) | Warrington

We are delighted to be recruiting for a fantastic opportunity. Our client an expanding law firm in Warrington are recruiting for an experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor to join the team.

We are looking for applications from qualified Solicitors or Legal Executives that are 5 years+ PQE (and have extensive experience gained handling a full caseload of Civil Litigation matters.)

The Role

As a Civil Litigation Solicitor, you will be working in the Litigation Department. You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting the Head of Department with training and coaching;
  • Undertaking regular one-to-one assessments of performance
  • Assisting the Head of Department (Litigation) in implementing and maintaining processes;
  • Ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the Litigation Department
  • Ensuring KPI/ performance targets are met on a daily basis;
  • Motivating the department to meet KPI/ performance targets;
  • Supporting the implementation of confidential business plans in line with the corporate strategy;
  • Implementing new systems and optimise existing systems;
  • Drafting Court documents;
  • Conducting file reviews;
  • Providing advice to Clients specifically with regards to liability and cost implications;
  • Attending Court hearings on more complex cases if required.


This role would best suit someone managing a small to medium size team with sound knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and experience in debt recovery.

The ideal candidate will have.:

  • 5 years PQE (essential)
  • Proclaim Experience
  • Understanding of the SRA codes of conduct
  • Basic understanding of the FCA Regulations (
  • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering
  • Understanding and awareness of the General Data Protection Regulations/ Data Protection Act 2018 (essential).
