Criminal Defence Solicitor (1–3 PQE)

A highly respected, multi-service law firm with a strong reputation for access to justice is seeking a talented Criminal Defence Solicitor to join its established Crime Team. The Role
You will handle a varied caseload of criminal matters and represent clients across courts and police stations throughout Kent. The position offers flexibility around working hours and location, with both full-time and part-time arrangements considered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a mixed caseload of criminal law matters (including theft, assault, drug offences, and related cases)
- Attending police stations and Magistrates’ Courts
- Conducting legal research, preparing case strategies, and drafting legal documents
- Providing clear, practical advice to clients throughout all stages of the criminal justice process
- Preparing and presenting cases effectively in court
- Liaising with clients, counsel, and external professionals
- Maintaining accurate case management and compliance records
About You
- Qualified Solicitor (1–3 years PQE) with experience in criminal law
- Either duty-accredited or working towards accreditation
- Strong advocacy and communication skills
- Ability to manage your own caseload and work independently
- Demonstrated commitment to client care and access to justice
