A highly successful legal firm based in Manchester City Centre is now seeking an experienced paralegal to join their Family department which consists of 8 solicitors; public and private law matters.

As the ideal candidate you will be able to provide support across the department, in particular to 3 Senior solicitors. It is expected that you will have a sound understanding of Legal Aid and CCMS having worked within a Family law department previously in particular handling s.31 care proceedings.

You will be confident speaking with client s in a clear manner on the phone and in person. Some administrative tasks may be included within the role therefore, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as a high standard of GCSE/ A Levels including Maths and English is essential.

Duties of the role include but are not limited to;

  • Bundles / indexing
  • Arranging meetings with other professionals & clients
  • Taking messages & progressing matters accordingly
  • Liaising with Counsel
  • Preparing letters of instruction / divorce petitions
  • Some admin - filing, copying etc
  • Attending clients who might arrive without an appointment
