My client, an industry leading and consistently growing firm are in the market for a Legal Cashier for their Leeds office. They are looking for a well presented and professional with a positive outlook with a focus on giving the best service to both clients & colleagues.

The role:

  • Ensure compliance with CLC accounts Rules
  • Support members of staff by dealing with client account transactions
  • Support Management by taking telephone calls and dealing with clients at the premises.


Key Responsibilities

  • Dealing with Clients & suppliers in a professional manner either on the telephone or face to face
  • Completing Client bank reconciliations on a daily basis.
  • Checking all bills & completion statements before being sent to client.
  • Completing & posting outgoing CHAPS, BACS and cheque payments to relevant client ledgers
  • Advising relevant Fee Earners & Assistants of incoming CHAPS & BACS payments and posting the same to the relevant ledgers
  • Posting bills to the ledgers ensuring that postings are to the correct referrer.
  • Making Client to Office transfers regarding bills and disbursements and transferring funds at the bank
  • Checking no client ledgers are overdrawn and office accounts are not in credit.
  • Making necessary Office to Client transfers on the ledgers and at the bank to comply with CLC Accounts Rules
  • Run reports for Fee earners to ensure compliance to CLC Accounts Rules and acting upon information received from the reports.
  • Carrying out archiving on the accounts system
  • Ordering files from archive when requested
  • Completing salaries on a weekly basis and posting to Nominal Ledger in the absence of the Financial controller
  • Covering certain roles of Financial Controller in their absence relating to client ledgers
  • Answering the main telephone number and the door entry system, dealing with relevant clients
  • Collate daily outgoing Royal Mail & DX post, recording and preparing for collection
  • Any other roles that the Management deems appropriate


Requirements
Must hold experience in a similar role, must be adept at MS Office 2007 or later, particularly E-mail, Internet, Word & Excel aswell as legal accountancy packages. A desirable requirement would be candidates who are a member of ILFM.
