Professional Indemnity Partner at Leading International Legal Business

Our client, an independent, SRA-authorized legal business, offers comprehensive legal services to insured and non-insured clients across various industries. As part of a Fortune 500 company with over 60 offices in more than 20 countries, they are dedicated to a people-first approach while expanding globally. With offices in Manchester, Leeds, London, and Croydon, they employ over 60 specialist solicitors. They are currently seeking a Professional Indemnity Partner to join their Civil Litigation Department in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Support in leading and managing the professional indemnity team.
  • Relationship Development: Manage, reinforce, and develop internal referrer relationships, corporate client and business partner relationships to grow the professional indemnity team and wider business.
  • Strategic Input: Contribute to strategy and direction at a senior level.
  • Legal Advice: Provide both contentious and non-contentious legal advice representing businesses and individuals in both insured and uninsured capacities.
  • Supervision: Supervise and mentor other lawyers within the team.
  • General Management: Oversee governance, compliance, supplier, and contract management.
  • Financial Control: Manage budget, financial, and profitability control, including personal caseload management and delivering appropriate billing and financial KPIs.
  • Client Support: Assist in the management of the Client’s advice line and hub services related to professional indemnity matters.
  • Team Direction: Provide overall team strategic direction, development, and marketing (including website, literature, communications, and PR).

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Professional Indemnity Expertise: Significant expertise and management experience in professional indemnity law. Knowledge and experience of construction disputes is strongly preferable.
  • Technical Excellence: Demonstrate technical excellence in legal practice.
  • High-Quality Advice: Deliver high-quality, commercially focused advice.
  • Client Management: Experience in client management and practice development.
  • Business Development: Strong business development skills and the ability to develop and bring in new business for exceptional growth.
  • Legal/Insurance Knowledge: Sound knowledge of legal/insurance relationships, particularly in the context of liability insurance.
  • Client Care: First-class client care and communication skills across all levels.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accurate case management skills.
  • Written Communication: Excellent written communication skills.
  • Team Management: Effective manager with positive and cooperative interaction with team members.
