Residential Conveyancing Lawyer


Salary Negotiable and based on Experience

My client is one of the UK's largest provider of direct Conveyancing services and are based in Leeds, since their inception at the start of 2000 they have grown year upon year and can boast working with the biggest banks in the UK. They are now seeking to bring in a Conveyancing Lawyer to join an already established department.

The role:

The Team Lawyer is responsible for providing technical legal support to the legal teams within residential conveyancing. The Team Lawyer's main function is to offer legal support, advice and assistance to these teams on complex cases.

Responsibilities for the role:

This does not set out every responsibility but provides an overview of the main areas of responsibility.

  • To provide technical support to the teams which will include leasehold title checking.
  • To work closely and plan accordingly with the Team Leaders to ensure service remains first-class and to facilitate the overall smooth running of the team.
  • To provide positive and constructive feedback to Team Leaders as appropriate.
  • To champion excellence in transaction management.
  • To identify process improvements.

Personal Qualities

The following skills are essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in residential conveyancing is required.
  • Experience and/or understanding of freehold and leasehold transactions in their entirety, unregistered, new build and shared ownership transactions is essential
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal with the ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Excellent investigatory skills with the ability to quickly assimilate facts on relatively complex files, identify patterns and form connections.
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Excellent organisational skills. Makes good use of time and priorities accordingly.
  • Good grasp of working within a regulatory environment.

It would be desirable to have the following skills:

  • The role would particularly suit an individual who is used to dealing with volume processing of
  • Either CLC/CILEX or qualified Solicitor 3+ years PQE
