My client is a well-established high street practice looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Wills Assistant. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for Private Client work, specifically around Wills, and offers the opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

The Role:

The successful candidate will assist with drafting wills and managing wills administration. You will work closely with a team of experienced legal professionals, ensuring clients receive the best possible service. The role is office-based to maintain accessibility for clients, but there is flexibility in working hours to accommodate personal commitments.

You will assist the department head while developing your own caseload, working alongside administrative support staff and helping with their growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting wills, Powers of Attorney, and other related documents.
  • Manage wills administration and ensure clients’ needs are met efficiently and professionally.
  • Take instructions from clients and provide sound legal advice (subject to supervision).
  • Maintain excellent communication with clients, both in person and remotely.
  • Provide administrative support, including diary management, client correspondence, and file maintenance.
  • Assist with fee-earning tasks, ensuring billing is handled appropriately.
  • Help grow the department through excellent client service and a proactive approach.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within Wills, Probate, and Private Client work.
  • Strong customer service skills with a client-first approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Proficiency in IT and confidence in preparing legal documents.
  • Experience working within a busy legal environment.
