A well-established and highly respected regional law firm is seeking an experienced Compliance Executive to join its growing team in Birmingham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional looking to play a key role in maintaining regulatory excellence within a progressive and people-focused legal practice.

The Role

Reporting to the firm's senior management team, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the firm's compliance framework, ensuring adherence to regulatory obligations and best practice standards across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the management of the firm's compliance and risk functions
  • Monitoring compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations, AML requirements, GDPR, and other relevant legislation
  • Conducting file reviews and internal audits
  • Supporting the onboarding and due diligence processes for new clients and matters
  • Investigating compliance breaches and recommending corrective actions
  • Maintaining and updating firm-wide policies, procedures, and risk registers
  • Delivering compliance guidance and training to staff across the business
  • Assisting with regulatory reporting and responding to compliance-related queries

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous compliance experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • A strong understanding of SRA regulations, Anti-Money Laundering legislation, and risk management principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
