Personal Injury Lawyer (Claimant)
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent (part-time applications considered)
Location: Leeds City Centre (hybrid working available)
Salary: Competitive and negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Personal Injury Lawyer to join a highly respected, Legal 500-ranked team based in Leeds city centre. This role offers the chance to manage a varied caseload across all aspects of claimant personal injury law, from initial instruction through to settlement.
The Role
You will take ownership of your own caseload of predominantly EL/PL matters, alongside RTA and disease claims, handling files from inception to settlement. The role involves proactively progressing claims, maintaining excellent client communication, and ensuring all matters are handled efficiently and professionally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing pre- and post-litigated EL/PL and RTA claims
- Drafting legal documents including MOJ Portal submissions, witness statements, schedules of loss, and correspondence
- Liaising confidently with clients, medical professionals, and third parties
- Reviewing and responding to all claim-related correspondence and emails
- Providing excellent client care and accurate legal advice
- Achieving individual and team performance targets
- Supporting marketing and business development initiatives through written content and community engagement
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 1-7 years PQE or equivalent experience in claimant personal injury
- Strong litigation experience, with EL and PL experience desirable
- Excellent understanding of the MOJ Pre-Action Protocol and Civil Procedure Rules
- Experience managing a caseload independently
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and towards targets
- A highly professional and client-focused approach
