Duty Solicitor

I'm working on a really interesting opportunity for a Criminal Defence Solicitor to join an established and well-regarded legal practice in the Telford area.

Ideally, they would love to speak with an experienced Duty Solicitor, but I know how challenging the market is at the moment, so they are absolutely open to hearing from NQs and solicitors at an early stage of their career who are looking for the right training, support and development to work towards joining the Duty Solicitor rota.

This could be a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about Criminal Defence and wants to build a long-term career within a supportive and established team.

The role

You'll be joining an experienced Criminal team and handling a varied caseload across criminal defence, with the opportunity to develop your experience across the full lifecycle of criminal matters.

Depending on your experience, you may already be undertaking police station and Magistrates' Court work, or you may be looking for a firm that can give you the training and development needed to build towards this.

The team is looking for someone who is:

• A qualified solicitor, NQ upwards
• Ideally experienced within Criminal Defence
• Duty Solicitor qualified or someone who is keen to work towards this
• Confident dealing directly with clients
• Commercially aware and able to manage a busy caseload
• Passionate about Criminal Defence
• Keen to develop and build their career within the team

This is an established regional law firm with a long history within the local community and a strong presence across Shropshire.

The firm has a broad range of legal specialisms, but the Criminal team has a particularly strong reputation and handles everything from motoring and lower-level offences through to more serious criminal matters.
