Paralegal – Court of Protection

Lincolnshire / MidlandsTop 200 Law Firm | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits

Are you a passionate, people-focused paralegal looking for a genuinely rewarding role? If you’re ready to take the next step in your legal career and want to make a real difference every day, this could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

I’m recruiting on behalf of one of the UK’s oldest and most respected law firms – a Top 200 firm that’s been serving communities across Lincolnshire and the Midlands since 1856. They’re known not just for their legal expertise, but for the way they treat their people – with trust, respect, and care.

A Firm on the Rise! This is a fantastic time to join the firm – they’re going through a major growth period, expanding across multiple departments and investing heavily in their people. You’ll be stepping into a business with real momentum and the ambition to match it.

Even more special is this department’s story: the Head of Department started her career as a legal secretary. She’s grown with the firm and now leads a high-performing, supportive team – offering training and development that’s second to none, designed by someone who truly understands the journey.

The Opportunity:

  • You’ll be joining a well-established Court of Protection team in a fee-earning paralegal role that’s as meaningful as it is varied.
  • You’ll work directly with vulnerable individuals and their families, managing financial and legal matters with empathy, care, and precision. If you’re someone who finds fulfillment in helping others, this is a chance to be part of something truly impactful — every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Preparing and submitting Deputyship applications
  • Handling correspondence and supporting complex legal processes
  • Managing clients’ financial affairs and liaising with care providers and families
  • Visiting clients (car and business insurance required)
  • Maintaining financial records and assisting with reporting
  • Being a steady, supportive presence for clients who rely on your professionalism and compassion
  • Representing the firm externally and helping grow this highly respected department

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Are:

  • Experienced in a legal environment
  • Organised, confident, and proactive
  • A natural communicator, both written and verbal
  • Someone who thrives working independently
  • Empathetic, patient, and emotionally intelligent – especially when dealing with vulnerable clients
  • Motivated by purpose as much as progress

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • A law degree or equivalent
  • Court of Protection or Private Client experience
  • Used SOS Connect or similar legal CMS
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and client care best practices

Why You’ll Love Working Here:
Because it’s more than just a job. You’ll be part of a firm that genuinely values its people – and it shows in everything from their long-standing reputation to their strong internal culture.

  • Competitive salary
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Income protection & life assurance (3x salary)
  • Staff discounts on legal services
  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Flexible working options
  • A friendly, supportive, down-to-earth team
  • Outstanding training and career progression led by someone who’s walked the path themselves
