Criminal Lawyer / Trainee Solicitor (Near Qualification)

A leading law firm (name confidential) is seeking a Criminal Lawyer or Trainee Solicitor nearing qualification to join our expanding Criminal Defence team in Dudley. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in criminal law, police station representation, and court advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied criminal defence caseload
• Attend police stations, providing legal advice and representation
• Conduct advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including bail applications, case management hearings, and trials
• Prepare cases, liaise with clients, and carry out criminal litigation tasks
• (Qualified solicitors) Take part in the Duty Solicitor Rota
• (Trainees) Receive support and supervision toward qualification and future accreditation

Essential Skills & Experience

• Qualified Solicitor or Trainee Solicitor close to qualification
• Experience or strong exposure to criminal law, police station work, or court advocacy
• Confidence in communication, client care, and case preparation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to high-quality legal services

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Duty Solicitor accreditation (full support available for those seeking accreditation)
