About the Role: This role involves managing a varied and busy caseload, working closely with a range of clients including a major international group with €11 billion turnover. You’ll be involved in every stage of the litigation process, with plenty of scope to develop your own client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising clients on litigation risk and strategy.
- Acting as the UK commercial disputes contact for a large international client, liaising with in-house Counsel.
- Managing cases through to trial, including drafting pleadings, statements, trial bundles, and instructing Counsel.
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members.
- Drafting pre-action correspondence, Part 36 offers, and settlement agreements.
- Dealing with breach of contract, restrictive covenant, defamation, and harassment claims.
- Advising on debt recovery and insolvency proceedings.
- Participating in mediation, adjudication, and other forms of ADR.
- Providing accurate costs advice and maintaining strong financial performance.
- Using legal databases to research and prepare legal opinions.
- Supporting internal compliance processes where required.
About You:
- Qualified Solicitor (3+ PQE preferred, but all applications considered).
- Experience across a wide range of commercial disputes.
- Excellent drafting, research, and negotiation skills.
- Commercially aware and client-focused.
- Confident supervising or mentoring junior lawyers.
- Well-organised, proactive, and a strong communicator.
