An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Administrator to join a busy Family and Children Law department based in Nottingham.

Family matters can often feel overwhelming and stressful, and a change in circumstances may seem almost impossible to navigate. We understand this and know how to minimize that stress by handling your problems in a caring, sympathetic, and efficient way. Our team aims to reduce conflict wherever possible and are experts in resolving the complex issues that arise from family breakdown.

This role is ideal for someone with strong administrative and organisational skills who is looking to work in a dynamic legal environment. Previous legal experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. Familiarity with online legal aid billing systems (Client Cost and Management System) would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing Legal Aid applications and amendments
  • Creating and copying legal bundles
  • Managing online diaries, including hearings and filing deadlines
  • Flagging hearings and meetings for allocation
  • Drafting basic court documents and standard correspondence
  • Setting up client appointments
  • Processing invoices according to office procedures
  • Chasing outstanding documents
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and other professionals via phone, email, and in person
  • Assisting with billing and data entry
  • Opening and closing files in line with internal and external requirements
  • Filing and general administrative support

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:30
  • One-hour lunch break between 13:00 and 14:00
  • This is an office-based role
