NQ Crime Solicitor

With a strong reputation and rankings in Legal 500 and Chambers UK, they are now looking for passionate and driven NQ to 1 PQE Solicitor to join their thriving Crime Team in St Albans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Representing clients detained at police stations
• Managing a varied caseload of criminal defence cases
• Conducting advocacy in the Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials (and Crown Court hearings if you hold Higher Rights)

About You:

• Solicitor NQ to 1 year’s PQE in criminal matters
• Crime duty accreditation preferred, but not essential (successful candidates without accreditation will be supported to gain it)
• Strong communication and advocacy skills
• IT proficiency and experience working with case management systems
• Ability to handle a demanding caseload independently
• Professional, positive, and proactive approach to work
• Passion for publicly funded legal work and access to justice
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent client relationship-building skills
