Anti-Money Laundering Analyst

A leading group of well-established law firms across the East Midlands is seeking an experienced Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Analyst to join its growing Risk & Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compliance professional looking to develop their career within a respected and fast-paced legal environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the firms' regulatory and compliance obligations, ensuring robust AML procedures are maintained across multiple offices and practice areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct client due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing monitoring
• Review and assess source of funds and source of wealth documentation
• Carry out sanctions, PEP, and adverse media screening
• Assist fee earners with AML and compliance queries
• Identify and escalate potential suspicious activity and AML risks
• Support file audits and compliance monitoring activities
• Maintain accurate compliance records and reporting systems
• Assist with policy updates and regulatory compliance projects
• Stay up to date with relevant AML legislation, SRA requirements, and industry best practice

Candidate Requirements

• Previous AML, compliance, or risk experience within a law firm or professional services environment
• Strong understanding of UK AML regulations and SRA guidance
• Experience conducting CDD and EDD checks
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with AML systems and Microsoft Office applications

Desirable

• Experience working within a multi-office legal practice
• ICA qualification or similar compliance certification
• Knowledge of high-risk client and corporate structures
