The Role: As the firm’s AML Compliance Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm’s continued adherence to AML regulations and professional standards. You’ll manage AML processes and systems, support the MLRO, and act as a key point of contact for fee earners and partners on all AML and CDD-related matters.

You’ll manage AML processes and systems, support the MLRO, and act as a key point of contact for fee earners and partners on all AML and CDD-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on AML compliance, client due diligence (CDD), and risk assessment procedures across the firm.
- Oversee onboarding processes, sanctions screening, and ongoing monitoring of clients and matters.
- Work closely with the MLRO and COLP to ensure regulatory requirements are met and maintained.
- Deliver training, guidance, and updates to staff on AML policies and best practices.
- Conduct internal audits, file reviews, and support with regulatory reporting when necessary.
- Keep abreast of changes in AML legislation and SRA guidance, advising on necessary policy updates.
- Strong working knowledge of AML regulations, the Money Laundering Regulations 2017, and SRA Standards & Regulations.
- Proven experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive, pragmatic approach to compliance.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage at all levels of the firm.
- Ideally, experience managing or mentoring compliance professionals.
