Assistant Solicitor - Multi-Track Personal Injury

Location: Warrington

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7.5 hours per day plus a 30-minute lunch)

Annual Leave: 25 days plus bank holidays

About the Role:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Solicitor to join a specialist Multi-Track Personal Injury team within a well-established and respected law firm.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload of complex personal injury claims, including high-value and serious injury matters, while working closely with senior members of the team. This role offers the chance to develop expertise within a supportive and collaborative environment, handling both litigated and non-litigated claims.

The position requires strong legal judgment, excellent client care skills and the ability to progress matters efficiently and proactively to settlement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage a caseload of multi-track personal injury claims
  • Handle complex and high-value matters, including serious and catastrophic injury cases
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements and other legal documentation
  • Instruct and liaise with counsel, experts and third parties
  • Negotiate settlements and advise clients on strategy and likely outcomes
  • Assess liability, develop case strategies and issue proceedings where necessary
  • Ensure accurate and timely use of the case management system
  • Maintain high standards of compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct
  • Support the team in achieving billing and performance targets
  • Provide guidance and support to junior team members where appropriate
  • Undertake any additional duties as required

Person Specification:

 

  • Newly Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or up to 2 years' PQE
  • Strong background in personal injury litigation, with some multi-track experience preferred
  • Confident handling both litigated and non-litigated claims
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage a varied caseload independently
  • Experience using Proclaim or a similar case management system advantageous
