The Opportunity

I'm working with an ambitious, forward-thinking law firm in Liverpool that is looking to grow and develop its Commercial Property team This is an exciting opportunity for a senior Commercial Property Solicitor who enjoys business development, building client relationships and has the drive to play a key role in shaping and expanding a department.

The firm is looking for someone who can bring strong technical expertise alongside a commercial mindset and a genuine appetite for developing new business. This is not simply a role focused on managing an existing caseload; it offers the opportunity to take a leading position in growing the practice, establishing new relationships and helping shape the future direction of the department.

With the autonomy to develop your own practice and influence how the department evolves, this role would suit an ambitious solicitor who wants to take the next step in their career and make a tangible impact within an established firm.

The Role

You will take responsibility for managing a small varied commercial property caseload while playing an active role in developing the firm's client base and growing its presence in the Liverpool market.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing a  small, broad range of commercial property matters from instruction through to completion.
• Taking a proactive approach to business development, identifying and pursuing new opportunities to generate work.
• Building and developing relationships with clients, developers, investors, landlords, tenants, agents and other professional contacts.
• Growing your own network and contributing to the long-term expansion of the Commercial Property department.
• Helping shape the department's strategy, direction and service offering as the practice grows.
• Identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships and generate repeat business.
• Providing commercially focused, practical advice and maintaining excellent client relationships.
• Working closely with the wider firm to identify cross-referral opportunities and support the growth of the business.
• Taking a senior role in the development of the practice, with the potential to help build a team as the department expands.

About You

This opportunity is ideally suited to an experienced Commercial Property Solicitor who combines strong technical ability with an entrepreneurial approach and a genuine interest in business development.

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience in commercial property law and holds strong organisation skills.
• A strong understanding of the commercial property market and the needs of business clients.
• A proven track record of developing client relationships and generating new business, or a clear appetite and ability to do so.
• An established professional network in Liverpool or the wider North West, or the ability to build one.
• A commercial and strategic mindset, with the confidence to identify opportunities for growth.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• The ambition to take ownership of a department's development and contribute to its long-term success.
• A collaborative approach, combined with the ability to work autonomously and take the initiative.
