Crime Solicitor

Essex & East London | Competitive Salary + Excellent Benefits

Ready for your next move in criminal defence?

I'm working with a well-established, Legal 500 law firm looking to bring an experienced Crime Solicitor into its Criminal Defence team.

With over 40 years in the market, more than 60 legal specialists and offices in Barking, Romford and Grays, this is a firm with a strong reputation and deep roots in the local community.

They're looking for an experienced solicitor who knows criminal defence, can manage their own caseload and is ready to hit the ground running.

What's involved?

• Managing your own criminal defence caseload.

• Undertaking police station and court duty solicitor work.

• Providing excellent client care and robust legal representation.

• Working closely with the Head of Department and supporting colleagues.

• Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency and Duty Solicitor Scheme requirements.

What's in it for you?

• Competitive salary.

• Discretionary bonus scheme.

• 24 days' annual leave, increasing with service.

• Interest-free season ticket and parking loans.

• Free conveyancing and reduced Will fees after 12 months.

• Long-service awards and professional membership support.

• The role is full-time, with at least four days per week in the office and flexibility for duty rota commitments.

Who are they looking for?

An experienced, qualified Solicitor with a solid criminal defence background, ideally with Duty Solicitor accreditation, and the confidence to manage their own caseload. Alternatively, someone keen to develop their career in criminal defence and work towards Duty Solicitor accreditation will also be considered.

This is not a newly qualified position. The firm needs someone who can make an impact from day one.
