Bishop Auckland | £50,000+ DOE | Flexible Working Available
Are you an experienced Family Lawyer looking for an opportunity to make your mark within an established legal practice?
Our client is seeking a motivated Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join its well-established Family Department in Bishop Auckland. With the opportunity to manage an established caseload, work closely with a Partner and play an important role in the department's future development, this is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for their next career move.
Offering a friendly, supportive working environment, a strong commitment to client care and genuine scope to help shape and grow the department, this role could be an excellent fit for an ambitious Family Lawyer.
Flexibility is also on the table. While the role is office-based, our client is happy to consider flexible working arrangements, including reduced hours or fewer working days, to accommodate the right candidate.
The Opportunity
You'll manage a varied Family caseload, providing clear, practical and empathetic advice to clients navigating often challenging circumstances.
Matters will include:
- Divorce and financial remedy proceedings
- Private children matters
- Domestic abuse cases
- Cohabitation disputes
- Adoption and other private Family matters
You'll be responsible for drafting legal documents, correspondence, court applications and agreements, alongside representing clients in hearings, negotiations and, where appropriate, mediation.
You'll also build and maintain strong client relationships, work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals, and keep up to date with developments in Family law.
There is genuine scope for the successful candidate to contribute to the ongoing growth of the department, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility over time.
I'm keen to hear from Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives with at least 2 years' PQE and previous experience handling a private Family caseload.
You'll ideally bring:
- A strong understanding of Family law and court procedures.
- The ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and client care skills.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- A compassionate, professional approach to sensitive matters.
- Experience in another area of litigation would be an advantage.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, takes pride in delivering excellent client service and is keen to develop their career within a supportive and established practice.
What's on Offer?
- Competitive salary
- Potential for a higher package where you can bring an established client following.
- Flexible working arrangements, with reduced hours or fewer days considered.
- Company pension and sick pay.
- Staff events and a friendly working environment.
- Genuine opportunities for career progression and professional development.
- The opportunity to help shape and grow an established Family Department.
If you're an experienced Family Lawyer looking for a role offering flexibility, autonomy and the opportunity to make a real contribution to a department's future, we'd love to hear from you.
