Criminal Defence Solicitors

I’m working with a well-established Yorkshire law firm that’s looking to add qualified Criminal Defence Solicitors to its teams in Leeds and York.

This is specifically a solicitor-level opportunity. The firm already has four in-house Police Station Representatives and three Crown Court Clerks, so they’re looking for qualified solicitors who can bring their criminal defence experience to the team.

Do you need to be Duty Solicitor accredited? Ideally, yes — but it’s not essential. If you’re a qualified solicitor with criminal defence experience and are keen to develop your career, the firm is open to speaking with you.

The firm has a strong reputation across Yorkshire, with nationally recognised criminal and family law departments and offices throughout the region. Client care is a genuine priority, and the criminal team handles a varied caseload, giving you the opportunity to continue building your experience within an established practice.

Who would suit this role?

  • A qualified Solicitor with experience handling a criminal defence caseload.

  • Someone who enjoys working directly with clients and is confident managing their matters.

  • A Duty Solicitor would be ideal, but if you’re not accredited yet, don’t rule yourself out.

  • Someone looking to take the next step in their criminal defence career.

Locations: Leeds or York
Position: Criminal Defence Solicitor
Duty Solicitor accreditation: Desirable, not essential

Even if you’re not actively looking, I’d be happy to have a confidential chat. Sometimes it’s worth finding out what’s out there before deciding whether a move makes sense!
