West London | Specialist Criminal Defence Firm
I’m working with a top-ranked criminal defence firm that is looking to bring an ambitious, commercially minded and driven Qualified Solicitor into its Serious Fraud & Organised Crime team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Solicitor who wants to get stuck into complex, high-profile criminal defence work and work alongside experienced Senior Solicitors and Partners on cases where the detail really matters.
You’ll be joining a specialist team with an excellent reputation in the market, with the opportunity to work alongside a highly ranked criminal defence lawyer who has been recognised as one of Britain’s top-rated solicitors and featured in the Mail on Sunday, Sunday Times and Sunday Telegraph.
The Opportunity
This is much more than simply managing a caseload.
You’ll be involved in case strategy, evidence analysis, legal research and challenging decisions, playing a genuine role in how complex investigations and prosecutions are approached.
Your work will include:
-
Managing your own caseload of complex criminal matters, often involving significant volumes of digital evidence
-
Preparing detailed case analysis and developing effective case strategies
-
Conducting legal research across complex and developing areas of criminal law
-
Dealing with novel legal issues and providing clear, commercially minded advice
-
Working closely with Senior Solicitors, Partners and the wider specialist team
-
Playing an active role in shaping case strategy and achieving the best possible outcomes for clients
-
Developing your expertise in asset recovery legislation, including the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, Serious Crime Act 2015 and Criminal Finances Act 2017
-
Drafting high-quality legal documents and working confidently with detailed case materials and digital evidence
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for a Solicitor who is ambitious, switched-on and genuinely enjoys complex criminal work.
You’ll ideally have:
-
Experience handling serious fraud, organised crime and/or complex criminal matters
-
The confidence to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision
-
Excellent analytical skills and a strong eye for detail
-
Strong drafting and legal research abilities
-
The ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional client care
-
A genuine interest in complex legal issues and finding creative solutions
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a specialist team
-
A proactive approach, with the drive to take ownership and progress your career
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who wants responsibility and wants to be involved. This is a team for Solicitors who want to understand the detail, contribute to strategy and make a real difference to the outcome of their cases.
Why This Role?
You’ll be joining a respected and ambitious criminal defence practice where the work is genuinely interesting and the quality of the cases is high.
You’ll gain exposure to complex and high-profile matters, work alongside highly experienced criminal defence lawyers and have plenty of opportunity to develop your technical expertise and career.
And if you’re someone who gets a buzz from getting into the detail of a case, challenging the obvious answer and figuring out the strategy - This could be a very good move for you.
If you’d like a confidential conversation about the role, the team or what they’re looking for, please get in touch.
