The role can be based in either their Birkenhead office, with flexible part-time options available.

They are a recognised authority in financial crime and proceeds of crime cases, working closely with financial experts and forensic accountants to provide top-tier defence services. We are seeking a newly qualified Duty Solicitor to join a dynamic and supportive team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling a wide variety of criminal cases, with a particular focus on matters that involve a financial component. You will be providing representation at police stations, appearing in court, and supporting clients through the criminal justice process.

We are open to candidates who have recently qualified, and there is no upper limit on PQE. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in criminal defence and financial crime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice and representation to clients, particularly in cases involving financial crime and proceeds of crime.
  • Act as a Duty Solicitor, providing emergency legal assistance at police stations.
  • Appear in court and represent clients at hearings.
  • Work closely with financial experts and forensic accountants.
  • Manage a diverse caseload and provide high-quality legal services.

About You:

  • Recently qualified as a solicitor (no ceiling on PQE).
  • Strong interest in criminal law, particularly financial crime and related areas.
  • Excellent communication and client-care skills.
  • A proactive, flexible approach to work.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.

Hours and Location:

  • Based in either the Birkenhead office.
  • Full-time or part-time roles available, with part-time applicants expected to work 3-4 days per week (minimum 14 hours per week).
