Job Title: Experienced Family Law Paralegal
Location: Chesterfield Office
Reports to: Head of Family Department

The Opportunity A well-regarded and long-established law firm is seeking a proactive and experienced Paralegal to join its busy Family Law team based in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a respected department dealing with a range of private family law matters, while working in a collaborative and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support solicitors with a varied caseload including divorce, finances, private children matters, and domestic abuse
  • Prepare court documents, statements, and bundles
  • Conduct legal research and assist in case preparation
  • Communicate with clients, counsel, courts, and other third parties
  • Draft correspondence and maintain accurate records using case management systems
  • Attend client meetings and take instructions where appropriate
  • Ensure all work is compliant with regulatory and firm procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 months’ experience in a family law paralegal role
  • Solid understanding of private family law including divorce and financial matters
  • Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Confident using case management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Professional, discreet, and client-focused

Desirable

  • Law degree or equivalent legal qualification
  • Familiarity with Legal Aid processes and CCMS (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in billing and compliance procedures
