Family Solicitors

I am working on an opportunity with a well-established and respected regional law firm that is seeking a Family Solicitor with 3+ years’ PQE to join their Family Department. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload and provide high-quality legal advice and representation to both private and publicly funded clients. This role offers a clear route to career progression, including potential partnership.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload including:
  • Divorce and financial remedy
  • Private law children matters
  • Injunctions (non-molestation and occupation orders)
  • Legal Aid and limited Public Law matters (e.g., LAC reviews, conferences)
• Deliver timely and practical legal advice to clients in person and over the phone
• Maintain accurate and compliant file management using firm systems
• Ensure timely billing and cost recovery, including preparation of Legal Aid files
• Adhere to all professional and regulatory standards (SRA and firm policies)
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals
• Participate in ongoing training and development
• Maintain strict client and case confidentiality

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ PQE as a Family Solicitor
• Strong working knowledge of family law, both private and publicly funded
• Confident handling matters involving divorce, finances, children, and injunctions
• Experience with Legal Aid casework is essential
• Solid understanding of SRA regulations and confidentiality requirements
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in using legal IT systems and case management tools
• Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage competing priorities
• A team player with genuine ambition to progress in their legal career
