About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Compliance Manager to lead and manage AML processes across the firm, with a particular focus on Source of Funds (SOF) and Source of Wealth (SOW) checks. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with in-depth knowledge of AML compliance, ideally gained within a legal or professional services environment.
You will work closely with fee earners and senior management, ensuring robust client due diligence is undertaken and that our compliance framework remains aligned with SRA and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of AML compliance, focusing on SOF/SOW checks.
- Conduct risk assessments on new and existing clients, ensuring appropriate CDD/KYC procedures are in place.
- Act as a key point of contact for AML queries and provide clear, practical guidance across departments.
- Monitor changes to AML legislation and implement policy or procedural updates accordingly.
- Support internal audits and regulatory inspections.
- Deliver AML training sessions to legal and support staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a compliance role within a law firm or similar regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of AML regulations, including practical experience conducting Source of Funds/Wealth checks.
- Familiarity with SRA Standards and Regulations and relevant AML legislation (e.g. Money Laundering Regulations 2017).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence, advise and build trust across all levels of the firm.
- High level of attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
