Legal Secretary & PA to Partner
Location: Warrington
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7.5 hours per day plus a 30-minute lunch)
About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Secretary and PA to join a busy legal department, providing dedicated support to a Partner within a fast-paced and professional environment.
This role is ideal for a highly organised and proactive individual with strong typing and administrative skills, who is confident managing a varied workload while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and client service standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage correspondence, legal documents and court papers
- Audio and copy typing of legal documentation to a high standard, with approximately 50% of working time dedicated to typing
- Proactively liaise with clients, including taking messages, passing on information and dealing with straightforward queries
- Maintain accurate and organised filing systems
- Prepare indexes and bundles, including electronic bundles (training provided)
- Carry out administrative duties including photocopying, scanning and collating documentation
- Arrange appointments, meetings and diary management tasks
- Provide general administrative and PA support as required
- Undertake any additional duties necessary to support the department
Person Specification:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Personal Injury
- Knowledge and experience of relevant legal software and case management systems, ideally Proclaim
- Understanding of personal injury processes and procedures
- Excellent spelling, punctuation and grammar skills
- Strong typing skills, with the ability to produce accurate legal documents efficiently
- Proven experience preparing legal documentation and correspondence to a high standard
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively within a busy environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Professional, polite and approachable manner with a strong work ethic
