A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified Solicitor, ideally 2 years PQE, to join a well-regarded Legal 500 firm’s Public Family Law team based in Blackburn.

Hybrid working available (3 days in-office, 2 remote), though flexibility is expected to prioritise court hearings and client needs.

The successful candidate will manage a caseload focused on public family law matters including care proceedings, child protection, and special guardianships.

Responsibilities include:

  • Representing clients at court hearings
  • Providing legal advice both verbally and in writing
  • Managing communications with all relevant parties
  • Supporting junior staff and contributing to team objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards
  • Participating in business development and team strategy

The successful Solicitor will:

  • Be a qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive (ideally 2+ years PQE, although less PQE will be considered depending on prior experience)
  • Have experience handling public childcare matters
  • Be confident managing their own caseload and deadlines
  • Show strong client care, organisational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness and IT competence
  • Advocacy experience is desirable
