As a Paralegal, you’ll play a key role in supporting solicitors and fee earners in preparing Crown Court cases, attending police stations (if Police Station accredited), and handling critical legal work both in the office and in court. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced legal environment while working alongside a highly skilled and supportive team.
The Role: You will be responsible for:
- Supporting fee earners in liaising with clients, witnesses, prosecution, courts, and third parties
- Drafting and completing legal aid applications and monitoring their progress
- Preparing court bundles and handling case documents electronically
- Managing diaries, arranging appointments, and attending meetings with fee earners
- Drafting legal correspondence, court documents, and file notes
- Assisting with billing and financial transactions in collaboration with the accounts team
- Performing general office duties, including file maintenance, scanning, and archiving
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in criminal law
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong client care skills and the ability to build relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail with strong fact-finding abilities
- Experience using case management systems and the Legal Aid Agency portal (CCMS)
