The Role: As a Duty Solicitor, you’ll play a crucial role in the Crime Team, representing clients detained at police stations and handling a diverse caseload of criminal defense matters. Responsibilities include:
- Advocacy in Magistrates’ Court, including summary trials
- Managing a demanding caseload with minimal supervision
- Demonstrating excellent communication and advocacy skills
- Passion for publically funded work and commitment to justice
- Building strong client relationships and working collaboratively within a team
About You:
- Minimum 1 year PQE in criminal matters
- Crime duty accreditation preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- IT proficiency and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Professionalism, pragmatism, and positive attitude
- Strong client relationship and team-building skills
