A highly regarded law firm is currently recruiting an experienced Family Law / Child Care Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant to join its established Child Care team based at its Manchester office. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting the Child Care department, ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the team and maintaining high standards of client service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and fee earners within the Child Care team
- Producing and formatting legal documents efficiently and accurately
- Handling the preparation of legal forms and navigating court procedures
- Managing correspondence with clients and third parties
- Undertaking diary management and general administration duties
- Working under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Using case management systems (e.g. Partner for Windows) and Microsoft Word for document preparation and editing
- Proactively assisting with other departmental needs as required
The ideal candiate wil have:
- Prior experience as a legal secretary or legal assistant in Child Care or Family Law is essential
- Sound knowledge of child care proceedings and family law processes
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong IT skills and experience with legal software systems
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
