Family Paralegal

The Firm A well-established and highly regarded law firm in Chesterfield is seeking an Experienced Family Paralegal to join its busy and expanding Family Law team. The Role The firm is looking for a capable and confident Family Paralegal with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in family law. The successful candidate will support senior fee earners and manage a caseload under supervision, working on a broad spectrum of family law matters including divorce, financial remedy, children matters, and domestic abuse injunctions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of private and legally aided family matters under supervision
• Draft legal documentation including statements, court applications, and correspondence
• Prepare bundles for hearings and attend court where required
• Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, and external professionals
• Assist senior solicitors on complex family cases
• Ensure compliance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate records on the case management system

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a paralegal in family law
• Strong understanding of private and legal aid family procedures
• Experience with domestic abuse, divorce, finances, and child arrangements
• Knowledge of legal aid applications and CCMS is desirable
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage a busy caseload independently and effectively
• Proficient in case management software and Microsoft Office
