The Role
As Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the business across a wide range of legal matters. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious lawyer with insurance sector experience to take on a varied, high-profile position within a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing pragmatic, timely legal advice to stakeholders across the business.
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including insurance and reinsurance agreements.
- Advising on regulatory and compliance issues relevant to the insurance sector.
- Supporting governance, risk, and corporate matters.
- Assisting in dispute resolution and claims-related matters when required.
- Engaging with external counsel and regulators as appropriate.
About You
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction).
- 2–5 years’ PQE (guideline only; candidates outside this range will be considered).
- Strong background in insurance law, gained in private practice or in-house.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk against business objectives.
- A collaborative team player who can build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
