Family Solicitor

A fantastic opportunity for a Family Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with a passion for legal aid.

We’re working with a well-established and highly respected law firm that is looking to strengthen its Family team with the appointment of a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive experienced in private family legal aid work.

This is a great opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys legal aid work and wants to make a real difference to individuals and families who need access to quality legal support.

You’ll take on a caseload of private law legal aid matters, covering areas including children, financial matters following divorce or separation, domestic abuse and injunctions.

The firm has a strong reputation for its legal aid work and receives a high volume of enquiries from clients who qualify for funding. As a result, there is plenty of scope for the successful candidate to build a busy caseload quickly.

What are we looking for?

We’re keen to speak with Solicitors or Chartered Legal Executives with at least 1 year PQE who have hands-on experience of running a private family legal aid caseload.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Proven experience in private family legal aid work
• Experience across children, financial matters and domestic abuse/injunctions
• A good understanding of the Legal Aid Agency, Lexcel and legal aid processes
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own caseload with minimal supervision
• A confident and personable approach with clients and colleagues
• Good advocacy and Court experience
• Strong IT and case management system skills
• An interest in business development and building professional relationships
• A full UK driving licence, as some travel between offices may be required

Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine commitment to access to justice and enjoy working with clients who may be going through particularly challenging circumstances.
