We are working with a specialist criminal defence firm – one of the UK’s first all-female law practices – who are looking to appoint an experienced Legal Administrator to join their growing team.

As the team continues to grow, they are looking for a highly organised and proactive Legal Administrator who can provide essential support across the business and contribute to the smooth running of complex criminal defence matters.
The Role:
As a Legal Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the legal team with day-to-day administrative duties, including:

Managing and maintaining accurate client files and case documentation

Preparing correspondence, reports, and legal documents

Supporting fee earners with case preparation and administrative tasks

Liaising professionally with clients, counsel, courts, and external agencies

Assisting with document management, disclosure, and hearing preparation

Managing deadlines and ensuring all information is recorded accurately

Providing compassionate and professional communication with clients who may be experiencing highly stressful situations
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience within a legal administration, legal assistant, paralegal, or case management role

Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail

Experience managing confidential information and sensitive client matters

Strong written and verbal communication skills
-
The ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure

A genuine interest in criminal law and supporting clients through difficult circumstances
Experience within criminal defence is desirable, but candidates with transferable legal experience and the right attitude will be considered.
Candidate Profile:
This role would suit someone with experience handling complex caseloads and client-facing responsibilities. For example, experience managing varied files, preparing formal correspondence, maintaining detailed records, and supporting legal processes would be highly valuable.
Candidates with backgrounds in litigation support, employment law, family law, or other areas involving sensitive client matters are encouraged to apply.
