A respected and expanding law firm is seeking a client-focused and Private Client Solicitor to join its team. With a strong reputation for excellence and a commitment to client satisfaction, the firm provides a dynamic and forward-thinking environment where growth, innovation, and career development are key priorities. Based in North Lancashire and Greater Manchester, they have over 100 staff across 9 offices, and this role can be based from any of their offices.
The successful candidate will offer expert and compassionate advice to clients on all matters relating to wills, probate, and estate planning. The role involves regular travel between offices, attendance at local events, and visiting clients in their homes.

Key Responsibilities include:
Drafting and Reviewing Legal Documents:
- Drafting wills that reflect clients’ personal wishes, including complex wills involving trusts, businesses, and agricultural assets
- Preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) for both property & financial affairs and health & welfare
- Reviewing existing wills, trusts, and legal documents for accuracy and compliance with current law
Estate Administration:
- Applying for probate or letters of administration
- Identifying, valuing, and distributing estate assets in line with the will or intestacy rules
- Managing tax compliance, including inheritance tax, income tax, and capital gains tax
- Maintaining accurate records and implementing trusts created in wills, including registration and drafting of relevant documentation
Client Consultation and Advice:
- Conducting initial consultations to assess client needs and provide tailored legal advice
- Offering ongoing support, addressing client queries and concerns
- Advising on inheritance tax planning, including trusts, lifetime gifts, and Deeds of Variation
- Communicating with sensitivity, particularly in complex or emotionally difficult circumstances
Additional Duties:
- Complying with professional standards as set by the SRA, Lexcel, the CQS, and the Legal Services Commission
- Maintaining strict client confidentiality
- Making use of available software to deliver efficient, high-quality service
- Taking responsibility for continuous personal development and staying informed of legal updates
- Supporting the firm’s marketing and business development strategy through networking and event participation
- Undertaking any additional duties that support departmental or firm-wide growth and success
The successful Solicitor will have 4 years PQE+, and access to their own vehicle to allow for visiting clients at their home, hospital or car/nursing home.
