About the Team:
The Costs Team comprises experienced professionals with a proven track record in handling high-value costs litigation, costs budgeting, appeals, group litigation, and complex technical challenges. The team boasts experienced advocates who regularly attend national court hearings.

The Role:
In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to manage your own caseload, including schedules of costs, bills of costs, and negotiating settlements. You will primarily deal with complex adverse costs claims on multi-track matters. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives working autonomously and taking ownership of files from start to finish.

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience handling your own caseload
  • Strong ability to draft points of dispute
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office Suite
  • In-depth knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and relevant legislation

  • (Desirable) Clinical negligence costs experience

      An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join a well-regarded and supportive residential property team based in Macclesfield.

      This role is ideal for someone with at least three to five years' experience who is looking to continue developing their career in a collaborative environment while managing their own caseload with the support of a dedicated Conveyancing Assistant.

      In this role, you will handle a broad range of residential conveyancing matters including shared ownership transactions, new builds, transfers of equity, adverse possession, transfers of part and remortgages. You will manage files independently from initial instruction through to completion while maintaining clear and proactive communication with clients, developers, solicitors and other key stakeholders to ensure transactions progress smoothly and efficiently.

      The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years' experience managing their own residential conveyancing caseload and will be confident handling matters from start to finish. Strong organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines in a busy environment. A solid understanding of residential conveyancing processes and procedures is important, and experience using case management systems, ideally P4W, would be advantageous.

                    We are currently working with Costs Consultancy who are looking to recruit a number of Costs Draftsman and Costs Lawyers into their Costs team in Manchester. The firm offers excellent training and the remote can also be fully remote for the right candidate.

                     

                    The role will involve working on clinical negligence, personal injury, EL, PL, Industrial Disease cases from small to high value. You will gain experience in dealing with a complex caseload. Within the role you will involved in the preparation of bills of costs for detailed assessment as well as litigation of bills through the Court process. The role will also involve preparing budgets and points of replies and negotiating settlements to close.

                     

                    The ideal candidate will have experience either in house or for an external costs supplier and has basic knowledge of legal procedures. You will have experience of dealing with a Costs caseload which involves drafting bills of costs, costs schedules and preparing budgets. You also will have experience of negotiating cases through settlement.

                    The role offers a competitive salary dependent on experience, and offers 23 days + bank holidays as well as further benefits.
